Meet Your Art Therapist

Kelcie Davis, M.Ed., LPAT, ATR-BC

Supporting individuals, families, and couples.

Kelcie is a nationally Board Certified and Kentucky-licensed Professional Art Therapist with over eight years of experience supporting individuals in a variety of settings, from ages 3 to 101.

Approaching Art Therapy

While Kelcie specializes in Art Therapy, she understands that not everyone feels comfortable or confident creating art. She thoughtfully weaves expressive therapies into her work, offering a creative, supportive space tailored to each client’s comfort level. Her focus is always on ensuring therapy meets your unique needs and goals. Kelcie approaches each client as a whole individual, honoring the diverse backgrounds, stories, and personalities that shape who we are. She encourages clients to lean into what makes them unique.

She has experience addressing a variety of concerns including anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, chronic pain and illness, substance use and addiction, grief and loss, life transitions, meaning-making, and self-discovery. Kelcie also holds a special compassion for older adults and those affected by Dementia and Alzheimer's, shaped by her six years of experience as a Life Enrichment Director in senior living.

Kelcie's therapeutic style is client-centered, expressive, and existential, with an emphasis on challenging yourself, while also cultivating self-care, self-compassion, and empowerment by exploring the past, present, and future.

“It isn't the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it's the pebble in your shoe.”

Muhammad Ali

Artist Turned Art Therapist

My journey as an art therapist began with earning a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and Psychology from the University of Southern Indiana. Later, I relocated to Louisville to attend the University of Louisville, where I earned a Master of Education in Counseling and Personnel Services with a concentration in Art Therapy in 2018.

My Reason Why...

I became an Art Therapist after experiencing my own personal challenges while navigating a long and difficult recovery from a near fatal car accident. This adversity changed the trajectory of my life, fueling me with a passion to help others through the ups and downs of their lives.

A Safe Space

My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a variety of evidence-based techniques and tailor my approach to each client's unique needs. I prioritize creating a warm and supportive environment for my clients to process anything that is affecting them.
